And then I think it was last year when Raj Sharan in Denver presented his digital plan to the group. And he is a brilliant man who runs a great business in a completely different walk of life than what I’m in, in any way, shape or form. I introduced myself, I met him, and we’ve become friendly since. I made a point to wait around until he was done talking to everybody, and I sat there and I was like, ‘I gotta talk to this guy.’ Years ago, in Los Angeles, I saw Ari Siegel speak who works in the esports world. There’s two that jump out at me off the top of my head. It’s meeting different people from different walks of life, doing different things within this industry that we all can share best practices.īSM: Is there a meeting or seminar that has stuck with you from previous Summit’s?ĮC: Yes.

We work in an industry where we’re all able to legally steal from each other and learn from each other, and I think that’s so much of what this conference is. And then you’re thinking about, okay, that is a great way of doing a show to really integrate an advertising partner in a way I hadn’t thought of before.’ ‘Oh, that’s how somebody in this town would view their audience versus somebody in that town. That’s really interesting.’Īnd then when you’re hearing other programmers speak as an on-air host, you’re thinking about maybe the audience in a different way. I wouldn’t have thought about it that way.

How can the Summit benefit people across multiple roles?ĮC: I think there is something for everyone, right? On the management side, you watch and listen to many of the speakers, regardless of what they’re there for, and you realize, ‘Okay, that’s an interesting technique. And together, collaboratively, it can help our company.īSM: You wear hats in management at GKB but also as a host at SiriusXM. So part of it is my own learning through my own eyes and ears, but other parts of it are learning through my teammates eyes and ears and what they’re taking away could be different than what I’m taking away. But as the years have gone on, the thing that I’m most excited about is the increase in the number of people that we as a company at Good Karma have sent to this conference.
